I am thinking about starting dance and am a beginner what kind of dance class should i take?

never took dance before, just started highschool, need some fun way to stay in shapeI am thinking about starting dance and am a beginner what kind of dance class should i take?
wat i did is i just turned on some music and starded to streachI am thinking about starting dance and am a beginner what kind of dance class should i take?
hmm it depends on what your into.


I dont know where your going but the classes to take are





-ballet


-pointe (basically for ballet experts kinda)


-tap


-jazz


-hip hop


-modern


.--theres probably some i missed





hip hop is really fun so id try that. It should be just a lot of progressions. Tap might be hard if your just starting unless your in a beginnners class

Id probably start with ballet and jazz because those are all the ';basis' of all dance. hip-hop,modern,Contemporary and lyrical are the most popular


i would do ballet and jazz and if you can one of the other just as sorta an outlet to do what you want and sorta have fun with it even though you should have fun in all the classes your taking. maybe do it with a friend because most the girls you would be with have made there groups so it will take time for them to warm up to you. Most studios have a teen beginner class or intermediate class and i would recommend taking those it will be more around your skill level. hope i helped and have fun
STREET DANCE OR SALSA
Definitely take ballet. No matter what kind of dance you practice ballet is the basis of everything and a lot of technique comes from it. Then you can branch off and do other styles :)
Ive danced for 5 years now, I started of hip hop/street, and a bit of ballet. Now I still do street but also modern jazz :)
to stay in shape, you could join an aerobics class.. else just put on your favorite track and dance like no ones watching! on a serious note, freestyle should be the kind of dance you wanna start off with as ull discover what comes naturally to you and then polish it with professional help..
Be different to everyone else and do flamenco. I love it and it really tones the legs and improves the posture, plus you get to play castanets!
Jazz or Modern?Contemporary both are fairly easy to get into and really work you out.

well its really about what type of dance your into theres loads of different styles you just have to find the one that suits you.





have a look on youtube typing in different styles and go for the one that you think you will really enjoy.





if your looking for a fun way to stay in shape i would probley recomment hiphop,jazz or mordern.





i dont think you should do ballet because altough it the ';basis of all dance'; it seems you want to just have fun and its quite disaplined, but its a great way to stay in shape.
