Tips for a beginner saxophone player?

i've played flute for 4 years...but now im playing alto. any tips or specific important things i really should know since i am teaching myself?Tips for a beginner saxophone player?
Yikes, from one embouchure to another! Anyway, don't bite down on the saxaphone mouthpiece or reed hard. Make sure the reed is softened before putting it on the mouthpiece. Breathe through your stomach. Practice blowing long notes. Remember, the flute and sax have different keys they are playing in so you'll have to adjust to that.

start on a softer reed. as she said long tones it helps alot. also as you get more experience work on not having your cheeks stick out when you blow. and finally don't be afraid to blow your heart out.
